Four Seasons Foods join Taste Cumbria Food Festival

Keswick’s Four Seasons Foods are the latest Cumbrian business to sign up in support of this year’s Taste Cumbria Food festival.

The wholesale catering specialists who serve food industry and hospitality outlets in Cumbria and South West Scotland are the official industry partner of the popular event, which returns to the West Cumbrian town of Cockermouth on 24th and 25th September 2011.

As part of their involvement at the food festival, Four Seasons Foods will be supplying freshSeasons food for all of the chefs demonstrations to visitors during the festival - including the celebrity chef presentations, as well as lending the Four Seasons name to the Producers’ Area where the very best Cumbrian and regional produce will be showcased.

Established in the 1970s, Four Seasons Foods has continued to maintain high standards in the regional food supply chain, working with a discerning clientèle including many leading Lakeland hotels, bars and restaurants.

The essence of Four Seasons Foods has remained the same for nearly 40 years - to deliver first class produce at competitive prices with the emphasis on customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Customers can order from a complete range of fresh fruit and vegetables, dry store goods, frozen food and Fairtrade products. Products are local and seasonal where possible with new Cumbrian suppliers being sourced all the time.

We are delighted to be associated with Taste Cumbria Food Festival for the second year running. The ethos of the Festival is a perfect fit with our own and we continually strive to fly the flag for what Cumbria is best known for - quality produce.

Four Seasons Foods have always championed the importance of food outlets using fresh seasonal produce, in fact long before it became fashionable!

Cumbria has a fantastically diverse culinary heritage, with a wealth of fruit, vegetables, meat, fish and dairy products – many of which enjoy a national and international reputation and we know that visitors to the region are actively seeking out restaurants which carry quality, Cumbrian produce.

As suppliers to many top eateries in the county, not only do Four Seasons Foods enable chefs to profile fresh, regional produce on their menus but we can advise on what’s in season over the coming months as well as providing information on market trends. Our customers appreciate that we can offer them these levels of insight; it adds credibility to their business and in the wider picture, contributes to Cumbria’s reputation as a hub of culinary excellence.

It’s wonderfully satisfying therefore to be involved with positive food initiatives such as the Taste Cumbria Food Festival and to be part of Cumbria’s real food revival.

Whilst only in its second year Taste Cumbria Food Festival has attracted considerable media attention, with The Guardian Fourseasons Vanranking it as one of the top UK food events in a recent feature, rubbing shoulders with long-established festivals such as Ludlow and Abergavenny.

17,000 visitors descended on Cockermouth in 2010 to enjoy a delicious slice of regional food and drink, and organisers anticipate that numbers will swell considerably this year, with the festival being heavily promoted to a national food-loving audience.

Foodie activities and events will be located in venues throughout Cockermouth town centre, including a Celebrity Cookery Theatre, Masterclasses and demonstrations from some of Cumbria's hottest culinary talents.

Junior chefs can learn hints and tips in the Children's Interactive Zone, whilst the Producers’ Market provides visitors with the opportunity to stock up on Cumbrian specialities and must-buys such as the delicious traditional Cumberland Sausage, regional meats, cakes and bread, pickles and preserves.

A full calendar of Taste Cumbria festival events will be available to download online in early September, but highlights can be found on the festival website www.tastecumbria.com which is continually updated.
