The Big Cheese
Set in the shadows of one of Europe's largest Castles the town of Caerphilly comes to life as people of all ages come to The Big CheeseĀ®, an extravaganza of street entertainers, living history encampments, music, dance, traditional funfair, folk dancing, falconry, fire eating, minstrels, troubadours and much more.
The Big Cheese is a 'must see' attraction for all visitors. Portraying the history, heritage and culture of Caerphilly, the 2010 event attracted over 80,000 people. Families from all over the country flocked to Caerphilly to experience this fun filled programme of activities and entertainment.
From 29th - 31st July, the 2011 Big Cheese entertainment programme is going to be one of the biggest and best yet, returning with some old favourites as well as new and exciting acts and entertainers that appeal to all ages.
The event will host street entertainers, living history re-enactments, comedy, music, dance, a traditional funfair, folk dancing, falconry, fire eating, minstrels, troubadours, craft and market stalls with produce from near and far, and much much more.
The Big Cheese weekend is a FREE event and over 80,000 people are expected in 2011.

Sat 30th & Sun 31st July
from 11am - The Big Cheese Entertainment programme includes: Reenactment displays, musical entertainment, educational activities, food hall, craft stalls, activity marquee, Tommy Cooper tent, traditional funfair plus lots more.
