Salute the Sun at the People's Palace on International Yoga Day
Celebrate International Yoga Day (IYD) at Alexandra Palace on 21st June 2015. Following the news that 21st June has been officially designated International Yoga Day, Alexandra Palace will be hosting the country’s biggest IYD event, with a whole day of completely free yoga!
Join in saluting the sun from sunrise to sunset, celebrating the first official International Yoga Day on the summer solstice. Entrance to the event is free, with a full programme of yoga classes, led by the country's leading teachers.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the United Nations General Assembly to get the day recognised, saying yoga "is an invaluable gift of our ancient tradition. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature."
There will be a full schedule of classes, including Laughter Yoga, AcroYoga, Pregnancy Yoga, and so much more! Five areas, including a main stage, mean that this really is full day of absolutely free yoga, with something for everyone, no matter your ability or experience.
There is no better setting to discover a sense of oneness than at Alexandra Palace, the new home of the OM Yoga Show in London. Set in 196 acres of parkland, the iconic North London venue is the ideal spot to spend hour upon hour saluting the sun on the longest day of the year.
