More Than Just Wool from Romney Marsh

Romney Marsh Wools offer a pure, natural and timeless collection of luxury British wool products including wool rugs, wool cushions, sheepskin moccasins and wool fat soap.

And now their own brand of wool fat soap, shampoo and moisturising hand and body lotion used regularly will help keep skin soft and smooth. Romney Marsh WoolsWe picked up a pack while at the Kent County Show last month and discovered silky soft soap that left our hands feeling clean and moisturised in one application.

Romney Marsh Wools was born through a firm belief to raise awareness of all the benefit that British wool can bring. Natural wool has so many excellent qualities as it is renewable, sustainable and incredibly versatile. Not only can you use the wool itself but you can even use the lanolin (which sheep produce naturally) that can be extracted once the sheep have been shorn.

Our trio of products that came with the soap included a shampoo, shower gel and body moisturiser. The products all smell fresh and earthy, and on use performed very well.

The shampoo lathered more than any other shampoo we have tested, with just a small amount creating a cascade of bubbles, which happily rinsed completely away. Although the hair felt quite coarse once wet washed, after allowing to dry naturally the condition was perfectly acceptable considering we didn't use an additional conditioner.

The shower gel offers a good level of cleaning and the residue aroma is bright and clean. We love a body lotion that sinks in without leaving a greasy film, and Romney Marsh Wools have achieved this with theirs. Again the residual aroma is not overpowering and our hands were left soft and smooth.

Lanolin offers a little waterproofing for your skin in a bottle, and if you like to feel protected from the elements then Romney Marsh Wools have harnessed the very products that keep their flock snug, and bottled it.

Our only concern was that for natural products we noted the addition of some SLS and parabens in parts of the range. While the evidence and study of the effects of parabens is far from conclusive, while the jury is still out, many are erring on the side of caution and avoiding them in their products until more information becomes available.
