Flying the Flag for Great British Business with Homemade Prints, Pictures and Ceramics

Julia Davey is a small, family run Somerset based company flying the flag for 'Made in Britain' ceramics and home accessories. Julia showcased her range of tableware and new examples of gift wrap, tea towels and jewellery alongside eye catching butterfly frames at the Country Living Christmas Fair last month. Julia DaveyShe is inspired by personal events, places and objects - one day it's flamingos at the zoo and the next a bee trapped in her garden shed. The product range is of high quality whilst still being affordable with tableware pieces from £14 and gift wrap starting at £1.50 a sheet.

"I tend to create whatever takes my fancy from jugs to butterflies and pride myself in the process of my making - each piece goes through four firings before completion. To find itself in a customer's hand it has gone through an arduous journey. I am a 'one man band' and like to decorate each item personally from start to finish. We are hoping to increase our production with the introduction of a new fine bone china range, sourced from Stoke on Trent, which will continue to be hand decorated by myself whilst supporting this British industry which is in rapid decline."

As a small company consisting of only two staff the company is pleased to announce that it is moving into new premises in the New Year to accommodate expansion and to allow for group workshops from the Spring 2014.
