Twinings Introduce Gingerbread, Caramelised Apple and Salted Caramel Sweet Green Tea Range
Twinings gives an irresistible sweet twist to a feel-good classic, as their new Sweet Green Tea range offers a collection of exciting new flavours that are just too good to resist.
For the first time ever, Green Tea becomes deliciously sweet and indulgent as Twinings takes a pioneering step by complementing favourite natural home-baked ingredients to this traditional green tea.
Great for those who want to try Green Tea but worried about the bitter taste - this new range is one to fall in love with instantly. With just four calories per cup and a choice of three indulgent flavours to choose from, green tea suddenly becomes a daily treat that everyone will enjoy.
As a tea lover, I was interested to see what Twinings could offer for those of us not particularly fond of green tea.
Twinings Gingerbread Green Tea - This brewed out to be quite subtly scented rather than over gingery on the flavour. A very light tea with more aroma than depth. If you are looking for something that will smell nice rather than a heavy ginger taste then this would be a good choice. I would have preferred to taste more ginger in the tea.
Twinnings Salted Caramel Green Tea - This tea seems to taste more like a buttery toffee, as it lacked the sweetness that tends to come to mind when one thinks of caramel. The slight saltiness that came though did team well with the sweetness.
Twinnings Caramelised Apple Green Tea - Not a favourite flavour, this tea didn't seem to have the strength of apple I hoped it would have. If it had a bit more punch, it would rate a little higher.
The new range from Twinings is perfect for those who want the benefit of green tea, but just can't stomach the flavour. The whole range are very mild strength teas, so not ideal for strong tea lovers, but great for a hot drink alternative.
The new Green Tea range from Twinings is available to buy from Waitrose & Tesco in packs of 20 tea bags from February 2014, RRP £2.49 For further information visit www.twinings.co.uk
