Spice up your Valentine's Day with the East India Company's Kama Sutra Tea
The Kama Sutra is one of the world's oldest treatises on pleasure and sensual living and was originally compiled in the 3rd century by the Indian Sage Vatsyayana.
First translated in 1883 by the renowned orientalist and author Sir Francis Burton, it titillated and scandalised Victorian Britain. While its risqué content is most often referenced, it provides a manual of balancing mind, body, and spirit to achieve harmony with one's partner.
Inspired by the romance in the air, The East India Company's tea master has created a special blend for Valentine's Day - the Kama Sutra loose leaf tea. With delicate rose petals, sweet ripe orange and warming spices, this tea captures the sentiment of the heart, soft whispers and caresses, passion and butterflies.
So we started our day the Kama Sutra way - East India style - with a pot of their special Valentine blend.
On opening the jar we took in the unusual aroma of the special blend - and have to say it left us divided. While I loved the mixture of scents emitting from the jar, my delight was met with quizzical looks from the others in the office who were not so keen. As expected, the strongest scents appear to be the orange and the rose petal.
Once brewed, the tea itself is soothing and pleasant, with a strong 'classic' tea taste emitting from underneath the array of top flavours. The different ingredients are all present in the cup and those that cause the stronger initial scents actually mellow out and blend well with the other flavours.
So spice up you morning, and perhaps your night, this Valentine's day with the Kama Sutra - from the East India Company.
