Dorset Cereals Granolas have just been given a brand-new look. The four handsome varieties look fresh and bright and include two new amazing recipes, Oat Granola and Berry Granola, alongside the recipes consumers already know and love - Honey and Chocolate Granolas.

Dorset Cereals love Granola - all that loose and tumbly oatiness, and they believe that theirs is the best-tasting granola there is, so we taste tested the new flavours to see if we agree.

We took delivery of the Oat and the Berry Granola to see just how good this cereal tastes and if it could keep us full until lunchtime.

The new Oat Granola is a classic mix of oats and sunflower seeds, gently baked with golden syrup for a touch of sweetness and a hint of vanilla. This is quite a small coarse granola so it would make a great topping for yoghurt, crumble or as a cheesecake base - as suggested.

For a straight cereal we liked it because it was so small. Often granolas come in such large chunks that they do not soak up as much milk as we would like and end up tasting a little too dry but this granola is loose and free-flowing.

Taste-wise it is exactly what it says on the box - simply oats with golden syrup and sunflower seeds. We couldn't detect the hint of vanilla and as this is a favourite flavour we may have liked more than a hint. It kept us full until lunchtime and gave us a good oral workout while we were eating.

The new Berry Granola is a crunchy mix of oats, baked with crushed raspberries and blackberries for that fruity summer sweetness. Slightly larger chunks but bursting with flavour, this is a great granola and the fruit tastes 'real' because it is. No artificial flavours here! We love red fruits and berries so this was obviously a winner for us.

The only downside we noted was the high fat and sugar content in both packs. Yes, they may be natural but they are still fats and sugars - and being aware of this will help you decide how often you include the granolas as part of your daily diet. On the plus side the goodness from the oats cannot be beaten so everything in moderation and you have a winning combination.

Dorset Crereals Granolas are made, where else, but in Dorset using traditional baking trays, kitchen cupboard ingredients, with no added palm oil or artificial ingredients.

The favourite Honey Granola contains lashes of honey and is packed with pecans and almonds, while the decadent Chocolate recipe combines rich 50% cocoa Fairtrade chocolate with macadamias for a touch of creaminess.

We're very proud of our new granolas. We've taken a bold step, adding brightness to our iconic and loved pack design, which we think looks amazing on shelf. Oats are great, not only are they filling and release energy slowly, they're also very versatile. We tasted lots of different recipes before coming up with Oat and Berry Granolas and we think people will agree that they make a fantastic breakfast.
