Gü Master Class with Fred Ponnavoy
The Source teamed up with GU to give one lucky reader the chance to win a dessert master class with Gü’s head chef and chocolate expert, Fred Ponnavoy.
Siobhan Horseman was the lucky winner and here is what she had to say about the experience...
"When I won the competition to have a dessert master class with Gü Head Chef Fred Ponnavoy, I didn't realise that it was going to be so much more.
Fred is an amazing ambassador for Gü and clearly an expert in his field and he made the experience interesting and great fun.
We made a variety of delicious desserts and he even demonstrated how to make an unexpectedly delicious guacamole dip using bananas!!!
Not only were we able to feast on the products of our master class but we were very kindly gifted a bag full of Gü and Frü goodies.

The Wonderful World of Gü
James Averdieck, Gü’s founder, came up with the idea for a top-notch chocolate pud brand when he was working in Belgium and fell in love with the local patisseries and their chocolate.
He met Perry, from Big Fish, who helped him brand the range and together and they sneakily slipped some Gü sample boxes on to the shelf of the local supermarket and watched shoppers grab them immediately.
It was a triumph!
Gü launched with three products in 2003 and was subsequently joined by its fruity sibling, Frü, which followed two years later.
It is estimated that a Gü pud is now eaten somewhere in the world every 2 seconds.
