Alara's Muesli Wakes Up The Day
Muesli has evolved from the plain grain mix of yesteryear to a 21st century taste sensation, with so many choices available today, incorporating varied and unusual extras.
Here at The Source we reviewed four different varieties of Alara muesli, starting with their first branded product, through to a modern gluten free muesli mix and here's what we thought.
We started the week with Alara's Everyday Organic Rich which we found quite fruity and nutty. It is a pleasant combination of flavours and a perfect start for our day.
The following morning we tried another muesli from the Everyday range, Organic Branberry. A nice and simple muesli mix with a sweet kick provided by the strawberries.
By mid-week we had moved on to the Into the Garden collection and chose Date with Cocoa. This is a very filling rich mix muesli that has a hearty, chocolatey taste.
Our last selection was Into the Garden Gluten Free with Goji & Cranberries Muesli. We found this very appealing. It is a light and sweet mix, combining a lot of flavour and a slightly crunchy texture. Very filling as well, so great for staving off the mid-morning munchies.
The first Alara branded product, Organic Rich was launched in 1998. Since then the Everyday range has grown and improved.
It now consists of nine different and delicious products, seven 100% organic, two of them certified by the Coeliac Society as gluten free and one manufactured with Fair Trade ingredients.
Alara's 'Into the Garden' range has been developed to provide a choice of very different eating experiences.
Every one of the six products has a particular taste & texture. Some of them very unusual, others simply more luxurious and flavourful but all worth exploring.
