M-Wines is a project that commissions talented winemakers to make the wine of their own choice. Only 1,000 individually numbered bottles of each wine are released, hence the name "M". Each bottle is a 'one off' - sold with the winemakers name on the bottle and a short biography telling their story.
Philip Morton, founder of M-Wines had the idea at the 2009 London Art Fair where he found that art collectors were more interested in the winemakers story than the nuances of the wine.
"I also knew that every winemaker I'd met had a "dream wine" they wanted to make, so I decided commission them to make the wine of their choice, put their name on the bottle and tell their stories.2
