The Equestrian.com Hickstead Derby Meeting runs from the 23rd - 26th June 2016. The week culminates on Sunday 26th June with the Equestrian.com Derby, one of the most famous showjumping classes in the world, an iconic event, one that makes heroes of its human and equine stars.

The course itself is as famous as the horses and riders that embark upon it, barely changing in the five decades since the class was first born. No other event in the world asks this much of its entrants, and no other course creates this type of drama.

It is the only class in which riders take on the front descent of the 10ft 6in Hickstead Derby Bank. But every fence in the course is difficult, especially the Devil's Dyke, the double of water ditches, and one of the widest water jumps in the world.

Those hoping to qualify for the Equestrian.com Derby have to qualify during Friday's Bunn Leisure Derby Trial* - a great place to check out the current form of some of the contenders.
